The murder of George Floyd feels like the straw that broke the camel's back regarding racial injustice in the USA. Ever since Memorial Day things have gotten worse in some ways, and provided moments of hope and progress in others. The need for racial justice and equality is supported by a majority of good hearted Americans who may be wondering what they can do to help create a system that protects and benefits every human, regardless.
I was thinking about the ways I can do my part. After doing the very least by signing petitions and donating money, I wanted to do more. I wanted to make the biggest impact I could to help advance this important cause that is well overdue.
I have been writing and performing positive hip hop music for 13 years. In order to use my passion and mission of spreading peace, love and community throughout the world, I decided to write a song about why I feel like "A Revolution is Coming"
